Squeezed in a short ski during the lunch hour, with fresh snow falling the entire time I was out. There was about an inch of new snow covering the artificial snow, which slowed down the glide significantly. Fairly quiet with not that many skiers out. Skate deck was good -- not hard packed or rutted, maybe a little sugary on a few short climbs but generally very good. Classic tracks looked good as well. Only skied the snowmaking loop, good skis no problems.

Skied the man made snow trails at Theo this morning while it was still sunny, which was a treat. Firm and fast skate deck and the classic tracks looked great as well. Even double tracked in a few places. I ventured out on the Judy Loop for the first time and I found it to be pretty icy. I slid out and crashed three times on various downhills there. Granted I'm more an intermediate skier rather than advanced. Made for an exciting ski! Overall a great time at Theo :).

I skate skied all of the trails north of Glenwood Ave, and they are all in excellent shape. The snowmaking loop - plus the Judy loop! - are particularly spectacular, with some of the fastest and manageable conditions we've had all year, with very clean snow throughout, even under the Highway 55 bridge. Almost all of the snowmaking loop is open, and the Judy loop in particular is such a fun loop and in the best shape in 10 years or so. No ice to worry about, just nice fast transformed snow. About as good as it gets for skating, and solid classic tracks everywhere.

Skied all the snowmaking trails except La Squadra, plus the Judy Loop and Bridge. Generally great conditions. Judy Loop was perfect! Be alert for some transition to softer snow (added from snowmaking?) exiting Judy and at the Ridgeline intersections. Caught me slightly by surprise in the flat light today and with skin skis. Tracks were a bit thin on bridge but serviceable.

Skied wirth south and north. Good conditions throughout, no ice but classic tracks are a little glazed. Judy loop tracks are in excellent condition. As usual theo north is in better shape than theo south.

Great to be back on the natural trails - everything north of Glenwood was groomed on Thursday night. In general, coverage was excellent this morning, and the skate deck was soft and smooth. Things were a bit slower than they had been before the thaw, but I suspect it will firm up in the next few days. The connector over Wirth Parkway to the snow making loop is open, though trail 18 is not fully open yet. One note of caution - the bridge under 55 is thin ice with asphalt exposed. I slowly skied through on my way out, but took my skis off on the way back. That's the only place I think good skis would not be advisable.

Great coverage, but skate deck was really rough in most of the natural snow trails. Lots of deep ruts, gouges, etc. especially in the skyline trail that made skating honestly pretty difficult as of 4 pm. Wirth lake was rough from the refrozen slush. Classic tracks in these areas were present and looked OK, not great. Grooming on the snowmaking trails was good, just skied through like you'd expect for a Sunday afternoon with great weather. Classic tracks there looked excellent.

7am ski. Loppet trail report seems to be lagging occasionally, everything was freshly groomed, report saying Jan 11 though. Judy Loop is groomed and beautiful with mostly (all?) natural snow. Great to be able to ski those trails again. There is a frustrating divot running up the middle of a lot of the trails, as if a groomer is dragging something.

Skied from about 4:30-6:45 tonight all the trails north of Wirth Parkway, and was very pleased to discover the Judy Loop had been groomed! Access was a bit different (close to the top of La Squadra) with snowmaking ongoing on the North Finger. It was very firm and fast and a bit uneven, but fun to ski the hills. Thank you Wirth groomers! The manmade loop was in great condition as always, Twin Lakes is now open.
