Grooming
Conditions: Good where the trail is open!
A small man-made snow loop has been opened for skiing at the head of the snowmaking trail. We will continue to open up areas as they are snowed in. Please avoid areas marked off for snowmaking. Thanks for your patience.

Grooming
Conditions: Small artificial snow loop is now open. Probably about 700 meters. Hopefully loop will be extended within the week.
Park in Par-3 parking lot to access loop. Loop starts/finishes in the lower stadium area, which is now lit for the first time!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Bare ground ]
Conditions: Ungroomed but skiable.
Not groomed but still good fun and good training. I hit a bit if gravel once crossing a cart path, but nowhere else. You can skate or classic. Follow the course if you want, but there is really no need to. There is grass poking through in areas. Just ignore it. Bring rock skis and the right attitude and you will have a good time.

Grooming Scheduling
At this time we have all five snowmaking guns working around the clock to get the manmade loop open. As weather permits we will continue making snow until we have a groomable base that we can allow skiers on. I am not sure of this time table, but I am hoping soon.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Bare ground ]
Conditions: Fair 2 inches of snow, poles hit pavement when over it. JD Rivers loop south of 55 north of Glenwood Ave. Not groomed.
Enough for most spots but will go through in others. Rock Skis. Did whole loop and enjoyed.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Bare ground ]
Conditions: Not good; no skiable snow on front 9.
Trails were in rough shape. Tried to ski at around 3pm today. There was no base, grass poking through everywhere. Not a single track to be seen. The warmer temps really blew the lid off. Hopefully snow making can resume after the holiday.

Observation
Conditions: Only enough coverage for the most dedicated.
Thought we had gotten more accumulation, but it's still not quite enough to keep the skis from going through to the ground. Lower Stadium parking is blocked off; walked across the bridge from the chalet, there was a set of skate tracks but it didn't seem like enough snow to be enjoyable. Hopefully we'll get enough tomorrow night for good conditions Friday...

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Bare ground ]
Conditions: Soft with grass starting to show through tracks.
Skied front 9 at 3:30pm. Very soft and appeared there was a lot of melting today. It's still ski-able but grass starting to show through ski edge tracks. Classic track is on its way out.

Grooming
Conditions: Small amount groomed and open.
Grooming for cross country skiing has been done on the Flats (golf course front 9), JD River Gardens, Eloise Butler, and the Bog trail loops. The trails on the west side of Theodore Wirth Parkway are closed for skiing at this time. Purchase ski passes at the Wirth Chalet Friday-Tuesday from 10am-6pm.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Not freshly groomed but has been previously rolled, some windblown, lots of previous days ski tracks, some walkers.
Best glide skating on opening day in years! Temp perfect, a bit windy. Skied front 9 between 11-noon.
