I classic skied the outer loop at Elm Creek this afternoon. Absolutely beautiful with the fresh snow falling. Lots of fresh powder. No tracks set on some trails. Nice track on Valley & Northern Lights loop.

Skied the Lake trail and manufactured snow trail. The surface was very icy boilerplate and while the natural snow trails gave a bit more edge, they were also quite uneven in spots. Careful on the downhills - it's painful to fall on that surface.

Can only comment on the man made loop as I didn't see any tracks on the natural snow. In general the trail was in excellent shape. The snow guns and wind were blowing causing a couple of areas to be wind blown and covered.

Firsthand: Freestyle Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I skied the Valley and Northern Lights trails. The Valley trail is in good condition with some loose snow over a freshly groomed deck. The Northern Lights Trail is in poor condition as stated in the Three River Park District Trail Conditions report. The Northern Lights trail has many areas where the snow is soft and slushy.

I skied the Valley Trail this morning. The snow was soft, thick, wet, and slow. The trail had been groomed in the morning, but with the snow continuing, it had already built up in places.

Valley Loop has plenty of man-made snow. Most areas, due to the popularity of Nordic Opener plus warmer conditions, are very packed powder. In some areas the tracks were totally blown out, especially around corners or in areas of cross traffic.

I skied the Valley Trail (snowmaking) only because I am trying out new skis. The entire Valley trail loop is now open. Great conditions as expected.

Very good snow on the man made snow loop this morning, so good I did not try the natural trails. Will wait for a few more inches of snow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I skied the outer skate loop today for the first time. All natural trails are open. The inch dusting the other day had not been rolled into the trail. The outer loop has some debris (especially on the very far portion on the top of the hill overlooking the creek on Creek Trail), but everything is skiable. There is a little black top showing just prior to the bridge heading out to the trail. Overall, good skiing amidst the slower snow today and it was nice to get off the manmade snow. The lower doughnut on Valley Creek has also opened up since Tuesday.

Sun coming out and a bit of breeze. Did the man-made loop to begin, then most of Northern Lights. Good cover with the new snow. Minimal tracks, but doable.
