Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
First skied Valley, which was just groomed that morning and had nice deep tracks. Very few people on Valley, several diverting to Lake. Then we skied a little on Northern Lights. The tracks were shallower than Valley due to mostly not enough snow. It takes more effort to ski on shallow or washed out tracts. Overall, it was a great ski morning.

I skated the outer loops and Valley between 8:30 and 9:30. Valley was firm and fast, but all the outer loops were in good condition, too, just a bit softer and slower. Northern Lights had freshly-set classic tracks, although they were soft-walled and shallow in many locations. It didn't look like classic tracks had been reset on Lake and Creek, but the existing tracks still appeared to be in fair to good condition. The hoarfrost lit by the low-angle sunlight was a real treat! And all the creek crossings had fresh-looking otter slides on the ice, making it a wonderful ski.

Skied at 8:30, it was still sunny then and almost nobody skiing. Did Multi use loop, Creek, Lake, Northern lights and Valley Trail. All in good conditions, freshly groomed. Multi use is still in good shape, all the other in great shape, slightly harder snow on man made snow Valley trail.

Skate deck was freshly groomed in the park and most of the outer trails, and was firm within the park to mostly firm on the outer trails. Classic tracks set and in great condition. Perfect temps for a ski. Multi-use trails in excellent conditions as well - I know it can be iffy sometimes, but these trails were definitely skiable; do not miss out on those sections! Great morning to be out.

Skated Multi-purpose, Creek, Lake, and man made snow. All were in excellent shape. Deck was fairly firm with a little loose snow on top.

The multi-use trail was in great shape late this morning for skating. A couple bike tracks and sled dog tracks but otherwise very good!

Snow was a weird soft and cold texture, which made for somewhat slow skiing. Trails were packed and tracked, not freshly groomed, but it had been groomed somewhat recently. Classic tracks were sort of set, but not in great condition in several areas since the snow is pretty soft. Still good trail and good snow to be out on.

Between 8:30 & 9:30 I skated Valley & Northern Lights, and ventured out on the return leg of Lake, going as far as Goose Lake. Valley was near-perfect as usual. N. Lights appeared freshly dragged, and was a bit soft, but nice for skating. Classic tracks have been completely erased by the dragging everywhere on N. Lights. Lake Trail was freshly dragged & great for skating, tho' a bit soft, with very fresh, but shallow classic tracks. It seemed odd for the freshly-set classic tracks to end where Lake joined N. Lights, despite N. Lights appearing freshly dragged.

Skied the man-made trails at Elm Creek. The snow was definitely a bit slushy but completely skiable and the downhills were fast. Classic tracks appeared to be decent shape on most of the course.

Stuck to the man-made loop Tuesday night. Rutted, slushy, but fast and fun to ski. Groomer was heading out to the Northern lights loop about 8:30 - I don't understand this as it was not below freezing yet.
