A nice set of trails with rolling hills. The first lighted trail system in the metro, it still attracts a lot of after-work skiers.

The skate deck was hard but very very fast with light washboarding on much of it. The wetland area on the Skyline trail had probably the worst washboarding. The left side of the trail was smooth but a touch icy. All the climbs were smooth and fast with a nice light layer of sugar snow, the descents were very fast. It was a nice fast skiing night with almost nobody else out.

Skated the outermost trails. Was a blast, with great temps, trails in good shape, nice snow everywhere. Increasing numbers of leaves but not too much to worry about. The Lagoon trail seemed a little bit more "wild" than the rest of the trails, a little more beat up and leafy but it was still great overall.

Was the first skier at 10:30, skate deck was nicely groomed, classic seemed shallow and glazy. All skate trails were in good shape, a few debris here and there of no consequence. Snow was kind of slow and sometimes not easy to see.

All in all a great day. I've skied French for the last three days. I strided Monday (I was very alone) . I've been skating the last two. The classic tracks are good when they exist. The skate lane is good. The evil oak leaves are not an issue. But, bark flaking off the trees can be an issue.

Was first and alone this morning around 10:30. Groomer had done an in depth grooming of the skate deck and was tracking new classic tracks which should be perfect today. Snow was granular, scratchy and kind of slow. Cold but sunny and almost no wind so overall OK.

It was a beautiful sunny day around noon and the wind wasn't too bad at all... the skate deck had been recently re-groomed and looked in very good shape but unfortunately the classic tracks had not, so they were shallow and had numerous washouts even on the flats. Skyline Trail was probably the best for classic skiing. The first Challenge Hill had no tracks at all. But I did venture out on a groomed loop on the lake itself and those tracks were good. Hope they re-set the tracks soon.

Skied French around 10:00 am, freshly packed, was the second one skiing. Pretty cold but sunny. Snow is granular, squeaky and somewhat slow. Meadow trail is wavy but otherwise all trails are in good condition. Classic was probably not as good having not been groomed in most places.

I skied classic trails at 12:30-1:30. Looked like they groomed this morning and tracks were decent except where high winds blew them out. The worst part was that someone skate skied over the tracks the entire Skyline loop and systematically knocked down the track.

Lovely morning at French. There's a good deal of snow after last night. It was groomed this morning and there has definitely been some traffic there already today, but still some fairly untouched corduroy. A few leaves and twigs on the trail with the wind but not bothersome. Great coverage and well worth a visit.

A beautiful sunny early afternoon. The skate deck was freshly groomed but the tracks were untouched. Fairly washed out for our classic ski. Hope the groom new tracks soon. Such a great park.
