Snow Blesses the Kettle Moraine

While the Doc's away the flakes will play.  Everyone agrees that in the future whenever we don't have good snow the Doc should be banished to suffer in some warm and sunny clime.  Because then it will SNOW!!!

For the first time this year the trails in the Southern Kettle Moraine State Forest and surrounding systems such as Lapham Peak, Nashotah Park and CamRock Park will have absolutely primo conditions for the weekend.  We are blessed to have cross country trails as fine as anywhere and park staff that can groom with the best, but the key ingredient is snow.

Events like the Lapham Peak Candlelight Ski this Saturday, the Tuesday Night Ski Lessons and Wednesday Nite Ski Series will be held in conditions as good as they can get.

Check the local trail maps on the Doc's Ski Slides page along with our personal take on them.  Up to date info from skiers is on Trail Conditions where you can link to Area Report which covers Lapham Peak and other nearby trails with skier and groomer updates or Regional Report which takes you to Skinny Ski with skier reports from throughout the upper Midwest.

Soft Salomons May be Ticket
to Birkie Success

Soft snow at the 15th Noquemanon Ski Marathon
surprised many skate skiers.  Though it's been a low snow year in the north, the Birkie Trail continues to get snow and this might be the year for a big dump of the soft stuff a few days before the race.

You can prepare for it by picking up a pair of soft ground Salomon Equipe 10 skating skis at the incredible sale price of $389.99 (regular $649.99) while the supply lasts.  It's the ski that won the Birkie last year.

Don't Miss the Boat for Birkie Ski Grind or Prep

It seemed so far away, but now it's just around the corner.  If you want your skis ground prior to the Birkie have them in by Friday, February 15.  For hotboxing and other ski prep bring them no later than Monday the 18th.  CLICK HERE to see the selection of our waxing services.

January Gift Certificate Winner

Congratulations to Marie Molander on winning a Bicycle Doctor Gift Certificate in our January drawing.

Happy trails,
The Doc
