Held on the lighted trails at Lapham Peak, starting at the Evergreen shelter. There are also youth and high school series, which start earlier in the evening.

This informal Wednesday night race series at Wirth Park is based on two-person relays with a different format each week. Bring a partner or sign up to be matched with a skier of similar ability. Adult, child and adult/child divisions. Great way to introduce kids and adults to racing or get your interval workout in.

One of the older races in Minnesota, it's run on the rolling trails at Buena Vista ski area. There is also a tour.

Cloquet, MN
A great chance to race on the legendary trails at Pine Valley, former location of the Minnesota State High School Meet and the home course of two Olympians and many state champions. Expect a good challenge and lots of fun. The event is a fundraiser for the Cloquet Ski Club and Pine Valley 360.

World-class trails take you over challenging climbs, across prairies, and through native Minnesota maple and basswood forests. 26K skiers extend their challenging climbs on Hyland Hills Ski Area. 10K racers will enjoy the rolling hills on an intermediate course. Also sit-skier 3K course and kids 1K course. Fat Bike races in afternoon and evening.

Collegiate club/team and open citizen races through the heart of St. John's Abbey Arboretum at St. John's University.

Thunder Bay, ON
Held on the Kamview Nordic Centre Ski Trails. Three days of racing: freestyle sprints Friday evening, classical races Saturday, longer skate races on Sunday. Participate in one or all three events. Racers competing in the longest distance of all events vie for the yellow jersey after each competition.

A point to point race, running from Ishpeming to Marquette. Multiple wave starts. Freestyle starts 40 minutes after classical. Last half of the race is almost all downhill. Finishes at Marquette's Superior Dome. Fat Bike races on Sunday.

Held at Nine Mile Forest. There's also 1K, 2K, and 4K for kids and juniors, plus a blue jeans 4K for new skiers. The games are open the events to non-Wisconsin residents.

Marine on St. Croix, MN
This is a great community race with scenic trails. Held at William O'Brien State Park. Once around park for 12km and twice around for 25km. There's also great kids races with age appropriate distances starting at 1:45PM! Again this year is a 8km wooden ski tour that starts with the classic race.

One of the older races in Minnesota (started in 1972). Held at the Northland Arboretum. There's also 1K kids race.

Saint Paul, MN
Winter triathlon consisting of road 5k run counterclockwise around Lake Phalen, a 5 lap/3.4km off road bike leg, and a single 6.5km lap of the Phalen Golf Course Ski course. The 2016 Winter Triathlon National Championships.

The Arrowhead Winter Ultra is an ultramarathon race on bike, foot or skis, covering 135 miles across the Arrowhead Region of Northern Minnesota from International Falls near the Canadian border to Tower, MN.

This is a great little training race series held Wednesday nights. Separate skate and classical races. The 5K lighted trail at Elm Creek is a nice mix of hills and flats.

Duluth, MN
A weekly Wednesday evening race series in Duluth. The venue rotates between Snowflake, Spirit Mtn, Lester Park and Pine Valley. Starts at first good snow; continues into early March, depending on conditions.
