    • Feb 10 update:
Start times for the Vasaloppet events have been updated. They've posted a course map and info on feed stops as well.  Note:  The 13K/Teamloppet event, which starts at 12:30 pm, will start on Mora Lake to avoid conflicts with late finishers.  Read the latest update.

    • Feb 9 update:
A preliminary, rough sketch of the course map shows it most definitely will not be a lake race! While part of it will use Mora Lake, much of the course rolls over the countryside north of town, much like the traditional race, including a pass by the beautiful Vasaloppet Nordic Center.   They are still working on course prep, so there could be changes to the course layout yet.

    • Feb 9 update:
So awesome -- organizers have announced not only will the race finish on the streets of Mora, but this year they will start in downtown as well! Looks like a 10K/12K loop, using the Nordic Center trails as well as part of Mora Lake, and the Bell Tower hill climb to the finish! Read their latest update.

    • Feb 8 update:
Vasaloppet organizers have announced they plan to use a course that will feature trails around the Vasaloppet Nordic Center and Mora Lake.  They are also working on an option to have the race still finish on the streets of downtown Mora.   Read their full update.

    • Jan 25 update:
Course conditions have greatly improved for the Vasaloppet USA with a nice snowfall on Monday. Organizers are hopefully skiers will be lining up in Warman to ski the full course in a few weeks! Read their latest update.

    • Feb 10 update:
Skied most of the trails on the northside - Twin Lake, Judy and Hap loops. The snowmaking loops are by nature, just fine. The natural snow sections have scratched up, but there are scattered dirt patches and a few icy climbs. Read the full report with photos.
      - Bruce Adelsman
    • Feb 8 update:
Natural snow conditions were taking a hit over the weekend with warm weather. Organizers are evaluating course conditions, will decide whether event will be able to use some of the natural snow sections, or stick to just the snowmaking loop.

  • Feb 14 Pincusion Mountain Winter Festival (Grand Marais, MN)  Check trail reports
    • Feb 10 update:
Final Pisten Bulley grooming is taking place for the Pincushion Mountain Family Ski Festival in Grand Marais this Sunday. The snow is fantastic, with over 2 feet on the ground and an 8-12" base. The snow covered evergreens and deep river ravine views are gorgeous - this is what skiing is supposed to be about. And even the weather is cooperating, with temperatures around 15 degrees expected. Come to tour or race the 10K and 32 K events, bring the kids or even the dog for skijoring.
      - Chris Hegg
  • Feb 14 Boulder Lake Ski Race (Duluth, MN)  Check trail reports

  • Feb 14 Woodland Loppet (Elk River, MN)  Check trail reports
    • Feb 9 update:
We've had conflicting opinions on holding the race so we took another look at conditions and tried to get fresh eyes on it. While the snow is there, and it covers the trails - it is extremely hard packed and pretty icy in some spots due to the rain over the past weekend. The groomers have been fantastic in working their magic and keeping the trails skiable - but we do not think we could hold a safe race at this point. The groomers are going to head out before the weekend with their monster "Godzilla" screen to get it scratched up for weekend skiing but at this point, we will be canceling the race. While we won't be able to hold the race this year - We'd love to have you still come out and ski at Woodland's. If you haven't skied here this season, there are some great new portions of the trail! We'll provide some free treats from 10:00-11:00 am, courtesy of the Elk River/Rogers/Zimmerman Nordic Ski Team. Bring your sweetie, bring yourself and find a sweetie or just come - ski - explore - enjoy the trails and the snow that we have! Do your last tune-up before the Birkie or stretch out those legs after the COLL. We'd love to see you at the trails! Also - if we get a generous helping of snow in the next month or so - we'll host a short notice race that next Saturday if possible. We'd love to get you out racing on the new sections of trails! Fingers crossed!
      - Kirstin Anderson
  • Feb 14 Wisconsin Winter Trail Assail (Nashotah, WI)  Check trail reports
    • Feb 8 update:
Event is listed as cancelled due to weather.
