Wednesday, October 30 - 7:00pm - Climber Isabel Suppé: Author of Starry Night
In 2010, Isabel Suppé survived a 1,100 foot fall while climbing in the Bolivian Andes.  The fall killed her partner.  She spent two days crawling over jagged ice and rock with an exposed fracture before being rescued. One year later, after being told she would never climb again, Isabel defied all odds and together with Robert Rauch opened a new, extremely difficult route on Serkhe Khollu in the Bolivian Andes.  She returned to her homeland, Germany, only to leave again on a cycling adventure from Morocco to Africa.  Not to outdo herself, she then cycled across the United States to raise funds for her mounting medical bills. Fourteen surgeries later, Isabel is still climbing and riding her bicycle.  Isabel's book Starry Night was released this summer.  Expedition Room, Midwest Mountaineering
