BOSS SNOWPLOW SUPPORTS JUNIOR OLYMPICS
HOUGHTON, MI -- Boss Snowplow has provided a $25,000 gift to support the 2006 Chevrolet Junior Olympics, the youth national cross-country skiing championships. The event, which will attract 400 of the top junior skiers in the country, will take place at the Michigan Technological University ski trails March 3-11, 2006.
The gift will support the renovated waxing center at the trails, which will be named the Boss Snowplow Wax Center. The company also is sponsoring the freestyle relay event, as well as the closing ceremony and final awards banquet.
"We're grateful to Boss Snowplow and Dave Brule, II, for supporting both the Junior Olympics and the Michigan Tech trails," said Mike Abbott, director of sports and recreation at Michigan Tech. "The Boss Snowplow Wax Center will be an important asset to our trails, and the skiing community, for years to come."
The 2006 Chevrolet Junior Olympics will host 10 regional teams, with skiers ages 14-19, from across the U.S. The weeklong festival includes four separate races, all to be held at the Michigan Tech trails.
Boss Snowplow offers a full line of snow removal and ice control products, including V-plows, straight-blade plows, trip-edge plows, and tailgate spreaders. Boss Snowplow products are manufactured by Northern Star Industries, Inc., of Iron Mountain, Michigan.
The Michigan Tech trail system includes both 15-km of expertly-groomed ski trails in the winter and miles of single-track mountain bike trails in the summer. The Junior Olympics are co-sponsored by Michigan Tech and the Copper Country Ski Tigers youth ski team.
