MN Coaches Spring Meeting Follow Up
I wanted to send out a quick note to all of the nordic ski coaches regarding the 5 x 3 proposal. The MSHSL executive staff has informed me that the only way the 5x3 proposal will advance is if we agree to limit our Section teams to 5 team members plus two alternates. This proposal would then advance the top two teams (5 team members + 2 alternates) from each section plus the next 5 individuals. I will be sending out a ballot to all nordic ski coaches where you you have an opportunity to vote on this ammended change to the 5x3 proposal. Thanks! At the Spring Coaches Meeting, it was discussed that MSHSL would not approve the 5 x 3 format in its original format, because it allowed up to seven skiers per team race Sections but then only five skiers would race at the State Meet. It was stated that MSHSL would want to see the Section and State numbers match. Those coaches in attendence proposed a modified 7 x 2 + 5 format, where up to seven skiers from a team could race Sections, with the top two Section teams then being able to advance seven skier to State. The next top five Section skiers, not part of the advancing teams, would advance to State. This notice states MSHSL is only interested in a 5x3 format for both Sections and State. ] |
