Mighty Miss Paddle Race

Mighty Miss summary - Perfect weather for the 3rd annual Mighty Miss - greeted 48 paddlers on Saturday. The 55 mile paddle from St. Cloud to Champlin was won by Surf Ski in 6:15:45 by Josh Flatten flowed close by Mixed Pro-boaters Emily Johnson and Chris Broderson in 6:16.25 with the Mixed Pro-boat of Mary Bauer and Jose Matute in third in 6:34:38.

High water on the Mississippi River this August helped all the paddlers in all three races. The 25 mile event from Monticello was won by the elite paddling duo of Kate Ellis and Joe Manns 2:45:25 flooded by Doug Berg and Grtegg Zophy in 2:55:00 with Dave Dahl and Zehynai in 3rd overall in 3:04:32..

The 12 mile race was won by Steve Peterson and Kira Stolen in 1:30:30 with Jeff and Al DuBois second in 1:30:45 followed by Craig Stolen and daughter Kaisa Stolen in third place, The age range for the top third boats went from 83 to 14 which is pretty amazing! All the paddlers in the events from racers to tourist in the 12 recreational division enjoyed the weather and light breezes.
