Excellent conditions. Great skating and the tracks looked good too. Had to walk one short section between Rut Road and Washout due to logging. Nice to see more trails open here after the destructive early-winter ice storm.

I skated the west side today around 1 pm. 35 degrees. The skate deck was good, but already a little soft from the sun and would have been better an hour or two earlier. Skate deck and the classic tracks were in terrific shape. Great conditions for March.

Trails were in amazing shape - even in warm afternoon temps. Very little debris. Groomers out several times over the weekend nights, so not icy in morning. (Thank you!).

Groomer was out last night and was up to something again this morning with a smile on his face. Fast fabulous skiing! More control on the downhills than I expected. The parking lot was 1/2 full by 9:00 a.m. and smiles everywhere.

Since December's destructive ice storm, we've been able to open about 50% of the East Side Trails, and our favorite Excelsior Road Trail on the West Side. Thanks to herculean efforts that brought in heavy equipment -- and time donated by some of our members with great chainsaw skills -- we have some very nice skiing. Great skiing right now in The Hills!

Classic skied the west side trail today with the dogs. Great kick due to the cold temperatures. Both the classic tracks and the skate deck were in great shape. The trail is currently well groomed and in great shape for both techniques.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the west trails, Excelsior Road this morning. Trail was freshly groomed and beautiful. I skied classic, tracks which were well groomed, were a little soft and slow due to fresh snow but overall was wonderful. Skate deck was in great shape. 19 degrees, no wind, fresh snow, if this doesn't feed your soul then time to move to Phoenix.

Firm base with dry powder makes for nice skiing. There are some pine cones and twigs, but nothing you wouldn't expect deep in the woods. Thank you to all the volunteers and groomers who continue to clear trees and revive trail from the storm. The progress is a testament to the love of skiing and The Blue Hills.

Trails were in great condition today. The crew has done a great job clearing trees down from recent heavy snow storms and the trails groomed are terrific. I looped the trails open on the east side two times and got in 11 miles. Definitely worth the drive to this terrific trail system.
