The trails at the Birkie start and throughout the Telemark system were flawless and amazing today. True "highlight-reel" stuff. Amy and I got there late in the day again, but had an absolute blast. The conditions were perfect! Even though it's been a few years since I've spent much time on them, the old trails in Telemark were the best I can remember in easily over 10 years or more. It was great to reconnect with the memories of skiing there through the decades, where we spent so much time with family and friends. Thank you to everyone that made today possible.

Skated and strode out of the Birkie Start, powerlines, and south on the Birke Trail up to the North End Cabin on Saturday morning. There were some thin spots on the natural snow but the start area had great coverage offered a level skating deck and was all recently tracked and groomed. The tracks that are set around the Birkie Start area are firm, and deep, and offer good control with solid pole plants. Lots of skiers out young and not so young and many happy faces.
