Trail Reports

2022-2023 season
Reports 1 to 7 of 7    Month: Mar | Dec
Saturday, March 11, 2023
Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Only the Blue loop is groomed for classic or skate. Classic tracks are thin and uneven due to low snow, but the snow itself and the skiing were quite good for this point in the season!

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Heavily glazed at sun up this morning. Some debris, trails are pretty tracked out on the Blue and Green loops, but Black and Red were in pretty good shape. Downhills were a bit scary on the icy hard skate deck.

All trails groomed for skate and classical. Time to recover form the Birke and get ready for the Bear Chase.

Pleasantly surprised at the condition of the trails. There is definitely "forest litter" on the trail especially those trails closest to the parking lot, but I didn't have to scrape any leaves/needles off of my skis this afternoon. (After three hours of skiing, I will need to clean the skis this evening). The depth of the tracks varies throughout the system with those trails again the furthest from the parking lot having the greatest depth. The skating deck is narrow so there are segments where the inside track is shallower than the outside track. The conditions are good enough that I plan to ski there again tomorrow.

Great tracks set. Skied red trail. A few spots where roots exposed, a few locations where other skiers damaged track but overall nice conditions.

Gorgeous trails. Classic and skate deck are firm. I did classic, looked like one person skated since it was groomed. Beautiful conditions for a swift ski. A few branches here and there. But the pine forest blocks the wind.

All the trails, classic and skate, are rolled, and tracks are set. The trail coverage is good. Due to winds, you will find some drifting and a small amount of debris.
