Surprised trails were not groomed after all the recent snowfall. Imprints of previously groomed classic track still visible in places. However in many places they were totally obliterated by snowshoe tracks from hikers who walked in the classics lane. Still pretty but I should have brought snow shoes, not skis.

Best scenery I have ever seen in my fifteen years of skiing Gartzke. Winter wonderland of speechless beauty, three or more inches of snow on pine trees, inch or so on hardwoods. Trails groomed and tracked, excellent gliding conditions. All trails on north side of bridge were open; south of bridge only Cedar trail was open, other trails south of bridge closed due to snow-laden branches. Langlade County is working to remedy the situation.
