Classic skiing with G2 skis was great! An inch of snow north of GR has made Suomi and Amen nicely skiable with just enough snow to plow on the way down the steepest turns.

The spring-fed water holes referenced by Randy are actually mud holes, and can be at the bottom of hills with a crust above them not quite thick enough to support your weight. If you break through with speed from the downhill and your ski goes into the mud and under the crust, that will hurt. There is a very dangerous hole at the bottom of a hill on the cross loop trail near the center spot, right under the groomed track. I broke through standing there and it took 15 minutes to scrape of the mud-slush-ice on the ski bottom. This is now a hole that will need to be filled in once the mud freezes over. There were several other places along the cross trail. I did not find other wet-spots on my very short loop.

All trails were groomed, but rough due to rocks and dirt from the water holes.
