Trail Detail
Notes
Trails are on the golf course. Some nice hills but most of the course is pretty exposed. There is one back leg that is quite shaded and seems to hold snow long after the rest of the course loses it. Rentals at the chalet.Trail Reports

Attempted to ski como this morning, and I should have just driven to the man-made loops. The trail was too icy for me to manage any productive skating, so I ended up doing specific strength up and down one hill and calling it a day early. I'm sure the rain is only making things worse, so I would not recommend any skiing at Como until we get more snow.

I did 2 loops over lunch. Temp was around 31F degrees. Rather icy on the skate deck, with plenty of grooves from yesterdays usage. As Tyler noted: it won't be groomed until we get more snow.
Lots of people out for Classical. The classic track looked nice and solid, although some skiers preferred to ski out of track due to icy condition (no grip). Great for a double-pole workout!

After these last two warm days, the classic tracks are pretty bare and the skate deck is getting thin. Grooming will be suspended until we get more snow to work with. Until then expect icy conditions once temperatures drop.

Conditions at Como this morning were fantastic. Wide, firm, smooth, and 99% good coverage. There are just a couple of spots where the groomer is still hitting ground. The bridge has been upgraded from "dirt with some snow" to "snow with lots of dirt". It has a ways to go before I'd want to ski through it, but its better. Hoping we don't loose too much base in the next few days and they can continue grooming.

Nice all the way around. Shallow tracks on the north side (not enough snow to go deeper), no tracks remaining on the two bigger climbs. But very good tracks in the southern, 'glacier' area.

Skated entire loop at 7pm. Good conditions - pretty firm, very fast at 21F deg, although a little thin. Felt some pavement under poles but never saw or felt dirt, gravel or pavement except under bridge. Fun V2 ski!

Grooming was starting around 8:30am (just as I was finishing). Should be excellent by mid-morning, including classic tracks.

Trail was groomed in the morning, by the afternoon, it was wind blown tracks from a fat bike, walkers, sledders, dogs. Not good for classic and they need to stop and shovel under the old Trolly Bridge. Also would be nice to groom farther from warming building to avoid sled traffic. Sorry for the not so good report but there were several factors going against good conditions.

Groomed but wind blown, base in most places is building nicely - soft in some places. Cold skiing in the wind but good to be out; good to see the sun. Under the bridge is the worst part of the trail, with dirt kicked up by the piston bully going to the downhill area. Shallow, skied-in classic track most of the way around, filled with wind blown snow in some areas.
