Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
We skied After Hours this afternoon. Most of the trail had just been groomed to perfection. The skate deck was slightly soft, wide and even. The classic tracks were soft, but deep and straight. Someone had skied out a few of the corners before we got there. There is debris in quite a bit of the tracks after a certain point and some on the skate deck, but it wasn't horrible. The classic only trails had not been groomed but the snowshoe trails had been.

Groomed well, track set. Pretty fast, got there just before the temp hit 30. But much debris on most trails. To be safe, use back up skis.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I finished grooming Rec Pine and Nebagamon and freshened up all the skate decks. The classic trail was groomed twice yesterday and looks great.

Trails were in good condition where grooming had taken place on Thursday and Friday, which was most trails, but not all. Red Pine and Nebagamon Creek were not groomed and White Pine and other areas had only 1/2 skating lane groomed but it still made for pretty good skiing. Brule received at least 3 inches of snow on Wednesday morning once the rain turned to snow, so it is not icy at all. It also allowed for setting good tracks for classic.

[ Trails Open: All ]
Some trails have been groomed and tracked, The fat bike trail has been groomed and is riding decent too. Here is what the DNR posted: We have begun to groom the trails for the upcoming weekend. Entry trails including maple, oak, spruce, and river have been groomed and tracked. Sally's classic and the remainder of the system will be groomed on Friday. Conditions are good for skating, but inconsistent for classic. Hard frozen or soft slush in all areas made setting full depth track difficult. Tracks range from good to poor. More passes will help to recondition the snow/ice, but new snow would be best, possibly early next week.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I groomed the skate deck on Maple, Oak, White Pine, Little Joe, River, Loop, Balsam, and all the entry's and returns this morning. No new track was set but much of it looked fair to great. Get out early to enjoy it at it's best. Expect a lot of pine debris in sections.

Fortunately groomers had just been out. That resulted in skiable snow conditions but it was a combination of soft and some chunky snow areas with a bit icy areas in the tracks. Happy to be able to have conditions good enough to ski with the high temps doing a number on our snow. Luckily, we have a lot of snow still for a base.

Icy, lots of debris. Many of the trails have not been groomed since we received an inch of snow on Monday night. Many of the trails have not been re-tracked in longer than that. Tracks and skate deck can be hazardous. I would mark this NSFS (not safe for skiing). Maybe with the warm temps it'll be softer, slower, and safer.

Very disappointing trail conditions. Icy and carved up. It appears to not have been groomed in a long time which has been my experience a lot this year.
