Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We just finished up grooming and tracking the Birkie Skate trail from Fire Tower to OO, including Birkie Ridge. We also groomed and tracked OO to Hatchery Creek, including OO loops and Hatchery loops. The March skiing is incredible out there! Enjoy!

I skied the Birkie skate trail today from near OO to just past the 35 k marker, came back on the classic. Skate deck and classic tracks were in great shape, though a little icy. Though I did fall twice, I will probably go again tomorrow. If the groomers get out it should be very good.

No complaints here, got on the Birkie Trail at Fish Hatchery about 8:30 this morning and skated up to gravel pit and back and wasn't disappointed. The trail was freshly groomed, level, offered great control, and there was plenty of coverage. As I got closer to gravel pit, there was a bit more debris, pine cones mostly - these were easy to ski around though. For now, the Birkie is offering some very good skiing!

Fantastic for skate and classic. I skied from OO to the foot of Bitch Hill and back today. The skate deck is as near to perfect as it gets these days. Firm and flat with fresh corduroy. Today may not have been my best ski this year but it was certainly in the top few. Many thanks to the Birkie staff for continuing to groom the whole trail.

As good as it gets for skating. I got out early before the fat bikers pre-rides and was rewarded with pristine conditions. A hard base but not icy and with fresh corduroy from edge to edge. I've been on the trail a lot this year and right now it's the best it's been all season.

From Boedecker TH to the High Pt. the classic trail skied pretty darn December-like. Great to kick on blue/violet hard wax in March. Thanks ABSF crew!

Skied from OO to High Pt. and back on the Birkie Classic Trail, it was soooooo good this evening. About 6" of new (cold) snow freshly groomed to perfection for skate and classic. Seriously, it was amazing. If you're coming up for the Fat Bike Birkie bring some skis too!

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Last night we received 8" - 12" of new light snow. For skiers today, we have started grooming and tracking OO loops. From there we will groom and track heading north on the Birkie Classic trail. (The parking lot at OO is plowed) In preparation for the Fat Bike Birkie this weekend, we will continue north along the new Chico course (which is the old Kortelopet course) and finish at the American Birkebeiner TH (start area). The rest of the week will be committed to packing and grooming the courses ( Big Fat and Chico ) for the Fat Bike Birkie. Enjoy!

The Birkie Skate, Classic and NE Trails are in excellent (spring-like) conditions for skating and classic skiing. Get and enjoy, I think we'll skiing for a while. Thanks ABSF for keeping up the grooming!
