MWP conditions just getting better and better as temps rise into the teens. Glide has noticeably improved. It seems like you are flying now that the snow is not sticky cold anymore. Sunshine, another busy day with many happy visitors.

Trails are in excellent condition and have all been re-groomed since the Wolf Tracks Rendezvous race this past weekend. Five inches of new snow on Saturday was a great refresher for the trails. The classic tracks were solid on the interior trails. Tornado Alley, Survivor, and Base Loop were superb! Skate deck looked pretty awesome as well.

[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skied a few of the trails around the lodge and all trails were in good condition. Some of the trails were closed because of the ski race the next day. That wasn't a concern since I didn't have time to ski more this day.

Great skiing at MWP! The base was hard-packed but, with a fresh Pisten-Bully groom, excellent for skate or classic. Tracks were solid and quite fast. Klister base + Start Terva kick wax was very good.

Excellent. Groomed twice since the freeze/thaw cycle and today was the reward. Trail is flat and firm but not icy with an inch of fluff on top. Classic tracks are showing some wear due to heavy use but still fine. I appreciate all the work it took to turn all that ice into this fine skiing surface.

We had intended to ski the WinMan Trails but found glaze ice when we arrived. Therefore, we headed to Minocqua Winter Park where I was confident trails had been groomed. We were not disappointed. I skated Wolf Tracks and C & D Express out to Lake Marie. Conditions were fair to good for the most part. By 2:30 pm conditions were such that the trails really picked up speed. So much fun!

I started skiing as soon as the park opened this morning at 9:00 am to get as much skiing in as possible while temps were lower. It was 28 degrees at the start but it had warmed up to 44 degrees by noon. The tracks were great early but quickly deteriorated with the warm temps. The track became soft and slow. I skied Tamarack Pond and River Run. Tamarack Pond was excellent. River Run was a bit of a struggle after the temperature climbed to the mid-forties.

I classic skied Wolf Tracks, Steeple Chase, and VO Max. All were in excellent condition. The scenery was superb with snow still clinging to the trees everywhere.

Skied the trails that will be on Wolf Tracks Rendevzvous 42 k. Trails are overall in very good condition. Some debris in the tracks but mostly avoidable by going out of the tracks for a few yards. A few spots down to dirt and grass but not many and only for about a foot or less at a time. Not icy today.
