After a few inches of fluffy snow, all trails were groomed on Friday for classic and skating. Expect good conditions for the weekend, just plan on dressing for the weather.

The trails are in great shape overall for both skate and classic. Beautiful this morning! Some sections are a little beat up or soft after the weekend - additional grooming will be done this week as necessary.

A thank you to the groomers for going out this morning. It was like a magic carpet ride! So smooth that I felt like I could have skied 50 km on an empty stomach. Thank you for giving us a midweek break from the uncooperative weather.

After the rain, we received a few inches of very wet snow. This morning we groomed the Alternate Trail and one pass on the Cut Across trail. We elected to hold off on additional grooming as more snow is in the forecast. Conditions were very good on the groomed trails this afternoon for both skaters and classic skiers. It firmed up better than expected - my glide was a little sticky at times, but never soft. Grooming plans: We will wait for the next round of snow to finish and hope to get the trails in good shape for the weekend.

We received about an inch of fresh sticky snow today. This slowed down conditions some but I still considered it good. Plans are to groom before the weekend.

Skated the entire outer loop, the Engagement loop and the multi use trail. The scenery was amazing with snow covering every branch and tree with a rising moon as the sun set. Trail conditions were crunchy on the top and soft underneath. When we skied with great technique we could stay on top of the snow but there were occasional sections of soft spots and when we pushed off with an edge our skis sank. The multiuse trail was more solid with less soft snow but still a few soft spots. Overall good conditions. The classic tracks were mostly looking good and the classic skiers all smiled and sounded happy with the conditions.

Perfect! Freshly groomed powder with just enough bite that a middle-aged mother can bomb the downhills without worrying that she might have to tap into her short-term disability and find someone to cover carpool for 8 weeks. Enough Minnesota plates in the parking lot to make a Wisconsinite grateful, but not so many people that anyone could hear you swearing off the long week. Brought a tear to my eye. A few actually. Maybe that was the wind in my eyes on the downhills. It's hard to tell these days.
