Really nice skiing at Swedetown today. Great for both classic and skate. As the other report indicated, the new snow and groomers made a lovely trail. Classic tracks are great and base is firm for skating. Mild temps and relatively light winds also help. More snow is on the way.

Skating today was as good as it gets. The 4 inches of powder yesterday on top of a couple of inches of slushy snow from the Sunday night storm groomed up perfectly. It's snowing again as I write this. Parking lot was full of skiers from just about everywhere. New this year (in addition to the new groomer) is our trail cam!

Good conditions today for skating. As always, great grooming. Very fast but not too icy to set an edge. More snow in the forecast.

Beautiful no-wax classic skiing today in sunshine and 40F degrees on freshly-groomed trails. Fairly fast, some debris from overnight wind, but no problems with it. Only sleet and freezing rain here overnight. Lots of snow, as over 100" has fallen so far December. Fresh snow in the forecast. Skied Valley, Greenstone, and the three Bears.

Report from the groomer: The new Huskey grooming machine had its maiden voyage and all trails are groomed and tracked. One skier's report said that the trails she skied were firm and smooth. We've had over 2 feet of snow since Tuesday, and now falling. Lake Effect has come!

It's a winter wonderland at Swedetown, even though winter doesn't officially start for another 10 days. Four days ago, all we had was rock skiing. But after Friday night's 2-foot snowfall, there is 30 inches on the ground with more falling as I write this. The new Husky groomer was out today for the first time, resulting in a flat and quickly-firming skate lane. Chalet opens for the season this Friday, Dec 16.
