Trail Reports

2014-2015 season
Reports 11 to 14 of 14    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec | Nov

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Great for skate! An inch of fluff!
I skated the main loop today around midday and so far this trail get an "A" as being the most pleasant to skate in town! The surface was very even except in a couple of spots, all the debris was covered and there were signs of tracks either groomed in or skied in well on each side of the trail. I did encounter two people walking down the middle of the groomed trail who I'm guessing either didn't speak English or couldn't read because when I let them know they were not supposed to walk on a groomed ski trail they walked on by ignoring me as if I were speaking a different language. I highly recommend making the drive out to Cloquet if you want some fun on hills! It was snowing and in the low 20's when I was there.

Thanks you city of Cloquet! I skied the 5.5k loop about 10am and it was great all the way.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Bare ground ]
Excellent, firm base 1 inch fresh, no classic tracks but I skied classic and enjoyed it very much. Firm enough for skate skiing. No rocks, no dirt, some vegetation under the pines at the very end. Excellent skiing.
