Notes

Small park near the end of the Gateway Trail. There is beautiful scenery with trails winding through pine forest, and near small lakes and picturesque farms. The course is quiet, sheltered, and has a lot of fun roling hills. Most of the terrain is intermediate in difficulty.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails have been groomed as of this morning. Trails are in fair to good condition with some thin areas in wood sections.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
A crazy quilt of grooming - a classic track will take you on a trail for about 300 yards and then disappear randomly, never to return. Finally gave up!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
There is good snow cover. The trails on the north side of Gateway Trail are very good. It was upsetting to find that the nice grooming and tracks on the south side of gateway trail have been messed up by a 2-track vehicle driving criss-cross across the tracks.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Ski trails have been groomed with tracks set! There may be some thin spots and some icy patches but otherwise they are looking good!

Firsthand: Classic Observation
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Disappointing - Tracks were claimed to have been set but they were only set on the dead flat sections. The track setter had been intentionally lifted on even the slightest uphills and for 100 feet at all intersections. Plenty of coverage. Saw some skaters on this supposed classic only trail. It appears they are grooming wider than the tracked area. Possibly for a skate lane?

The ski trails at Pine Point Park have been groomed on Wednesday. Fresh tracks have been set and look good. Snow may be thin in the pines.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Rock skis ]
The decision has been made to close the ski trails until we get more substantial snow. It has been found to be too icy and dangerous as of this afternoon.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Trail conditions are icy due to the weather. Please use caution if using the trails.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails rolled, but no classic tracks groomed. A trail overrun with walkers boot marks making trail rough. B trail mostly consistent with minimal walker damage. Icy spots and bare spots on both trails. MN DNR, as usual, has not groomed the Gateway Trail.
