From Briton Peak skied around Hogback, Picnic Ridge, East Oberg, and back via Connector, Homestead, and Hogback again. Sugarbush is back in fine shape. Skate deck is firm and even, classic tracks solid. Glide good. Nice new cord throughout. The only issue is the open water holes on long east Oberg downhill, one of which has turned into a big divot that someone fell into and then walked out leaving big foot print holes in the skate deck. The tracks and next to the tracks avoid the water holes. Debris still exists but there is much less and it is not a problem for good skis. Happy skiing and happy new year.

We skied Moose Fence today, absolutely beautiful! Tracks firm, skate deck firm, couldn't be better, many smiles were met as we skied. Grooming plans: Darren, our groomer, will be out tonight to groom the whole system with the piston bully. Conditions should be mid winter after receiving over 40 in of snow in the past couple weeks.

Skated around Hogback and Homestead twice. The deck is a bit uneven and soft with pole plants often punching thru. Therefore, a bit slow with rhythm had to establish. A fair amount of tree debris from the storm but it could all be avoided easily so good skis not a problem. The tracks are in great shape and I classic skied them yesterday. Hard pole plants were punching thru so long double poling was not too feasible. Advise bigger pole baskets if you have them until after the next groom.

Freshly groomed Monday. We did Britton Peak to Hogback Loop and also Homestead Loop. Groomed for both classic and skate. It was awesome.

Such a wonderful place to ski. Picnic loop is currently closed. I skied the Homestead and Hogback loops and they were perfect for me. A few soft spots, but mostly smooth sailing. Some debris, but easily avoided if you stay focused. I almost wiped out once due to a stick because I was looking at the beautiful views.

Lovely ski out and back along Onion River Rd in fresh corduroy. Would have done Oberg loop if I had more time. A couple branches easily avoided.

Thank you super groomer for working with the new snow! Skied Onion River Rd to X, fresh double tracked with wide skate lane. Snow a bit sticky but great conditions in 34° temps. Took M back to parking lot with a single track and skate lane. One small wet spot which was skiable. All wonderful condions.

Classic skied Hogback and Homestead from Briton Peak trailhead. Skied during the heavy wet snow with temps hovering around freezing. Wore my rain jacket! Skied through 2 to 3 inches of new wet snow, breaking trail on Hogback and Homestead and following skier tracks on the connector and trailhead loops. Skiing was of course slow but skins worked reasonably well. The only issue is dips in the trail under which there was often water. Not an issue when you could see them and ski fast thru them, but new snow and skiing at and beyond dusk made for some challenges. Will be back tomorrow with more daylight!
