[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We were traveling from Canada (Gatineau Loppet) towards Hayward and stumbled upon this gem of beautifully groomed trails. It was great skiing this morning. Some of us skated and others did classic - we amazed how good the snow held up and how beautiful the trails were set up. Highly recommend this trail system.

Winter perfection is here! My third day skiing here and the best conditions yet. Skate deck is finally beginning to pack down nicely, especially on B. Z and H are still a bit softer. About 10 inches of snow over the past several days. Good skis! Don't miss out on the opportunity to ski an amazing system with full coverage.

Lots of fresh snow here. Looks to be about 11 inches or more. The demo groomer did a great job grooming the trails. There was a noticable difference. Tracks were perfect. Skate lane was great, but a bit soft because of all of the fresh snow. This is a favorite of mine when up in the UP. Snowed here Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Nice lodge facilities.

Great conditions as Valley Spur continues to get lake effect snow bands every day. After a full groom this morning we received another 2" of light snow this morning. Classic was excellent with fresh snow in the tracks. Skate deck is solid and light fluff did not slow anything down. Don't hesitate to come up.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good lake effect snow over the last three days, so John C groomed the system each day. Excellent classic conditions. Skate deck has firmed up with temps getting colder each night. A local ski shop is offering free rentals on site tomorrow, plus new skis for those who want to test the latest models. There will be free snowshoe rental tomorrow for our two trails that are well marked. We are having a fundraiser to purchase new grooming equipment. Free hot dogs for everyone.

Most trails are now tracked and in pretty good condition. Some variable conditions with some thin spots, so check out downhills before descending.

Groomer set tracks on some trails Monday. Grooming plans: Track setting should be expanded on Tuesday. A few inches of fresh snow really improved the conditions.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Did a three hour easy ski so got to see conditions on quite a bit of terrain. I'd avoid the advanced loops until we get more snow, but the hills I skied were quite skiable. The groomer was out in the morning and scuffed up the skate lane in the most popular routes. The tracks are old from before this last thaw. Most tracks (70%) could still be found and were nicely skiable. The groomers need more snow to set new tracks. It snowed about an inch today and skiing was very pleasant. There are no bare stretches, though I spotted a few thin areas. I'd say on the average there is 4" of base.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I debated between saying good or B skis. I went with B because of debris, and icy, not freshly groomed conditions. But, the snow base is solid and I saw no bare spots on the trails I skied. Per the signs I mostly stuck to the less hilly trails as the icy conditions were fast. Valley Spur has paused grooming through the warm spell this week, but shallow tracks were still good. Deck was good in most places, but had a few areas of ski ruts from previous warm day skiers. Glad we ventured over. Fun ski.
