With lots of new snow 10-12" or more, Valley Spur was groomed and tracked to perfection again this morning. It had been snowing the past few days so today was the first sunny day without it snowing. Valley Spur is a very scenic trail system in the Hiawatha National Forest. The terrain is great for XC trails. There is something here for every ability. The trails are well marked. They have a log chalet to warm up in. There are also snowshoe trails here. This is a great place to ski.

The Lake Superior snow machine really fired up about 9am today and continued through this afternoon. We groomed in the 2" we got overnight and conditions were awesome 'til we threw in the towel around noon. The early bird got the worm today!

2" of fresh snow overnight and still snowing on and off this afternoon. Groomed the entire system today. More snow tonight and tomorrow through the day will have us busy keeping it groomed for Sunday skiing. Stop by for a ski on the way home from the Noque. Should be great mid-winter skiing!

2"+ of fresh snow overnight on top of an 8" base and temps dropped to mid 20's. Dan is grooming and says skate lanes are setting up very well. Kick waxing for classic should be easy. Stop by on your way to the Noque.

There was rain last night, but it had little effect on the trails as the base is 6-8" plus. No ice. No-wax and mohair was working very well. I had great kick with Start Oslo Purple. Big hills were slow due to the moisture in the snow. 37F and overcast.

The warmer temps the past couple days have not had any negative impact on our trails. Well below freezing temps at night will keep them in great shape through this continuing warm spell. Had reports of hard wax conditions throughout the system this morning. Our base is deep and solid so grab those skis and get out there!

We received a foot or more of fresh snow this week so great conditions for both skate and classic at Valley Spur. The weather looks awesome for the weekend so come join us for great skiing, a warm lodge and quality time with friends and family!

Awesome classic conditions yesterday with Blue Extra. Great base and solid tracks. More snow coming, so groomers are out early Wednesday.

All the fresh snow the last couple days has kept us busy grooming. We have a great base of at least 6". 80% of the system is rolled and tracked. All trails should be open and groomed by noon tomorrow. Come on out!

Another 2-3" this morning on top of the 6" from yesterday. Dan has snow to work with, so trails are up to mid-season conditions. Classic tracks are excellent, with a little Blue Extra. Lodge open through Monday.
