Pretty good conditions mid-morning but softening through the day. Nice for skating. Tracks are soft. Lots more muddy deer hoof prints.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Soft, moist snow on a firm manmade base. Good for skate but a bit slow. More specs of dirt showing up on the snow. Wish someone would tell the deer to clean the mud off their hoofs before they cross the trail.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The Piston Bully was out early this morning with great results. The skate deck tilled up nicely and new classic tracks were set. The waves on top of summer stage are starting to go away. We are doing the best we can with the temps we have. Hopefully it will cool down sometime soon.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Skied 3-5pm. Snow was a little soft after the wet snow and warming weather but was very pleasantly surprised at how well my skis ran (skate). Just a small area with mad made snow was open, but it was worth the drive from Madison for a desperate skier! Hope it holds tomorrow.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Soft, moist snow on a firm base on the manmade snow loop. Same 'Y' as before yesterday's snow, but the new snow worked in nicely with the manmade base. Good, but slow (at least for me) skating. Tracks are softening.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
There are 700 yards of man-made snow which was groomed by the PistenBully Friday night. This out and back turned out great! Grooming was attempted on the other trails with very limited success. Most trails are very thin with bare spots. The purple trail (Kame Terrace Trail) turned out the best. It has been rolled and compacted. Expect a soft surface due to warm temperatures.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Mother Nature blessed us with 4" of sweet snow today. Our Pisten Bully did an amazing job of grooming up our man made trail. I groomed the skate deck and reset tracks. The DNR was rolling some of the trails off the man made when I finished, I'm not sure how they will ski.

Morning

[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
I love corduroy in the morning! Trails were outstanding for skating and the classic tracks looked very good as well. I've been told the 1.2k "Y" trail will be pisten bully groomed nightly. Skating was equally good last night after the Peak Nordic kids had racked up some K's. Get out before any warm up.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The Piston Bully was out Wednesday night with mixed results. There is a 20 yard area on top of summer stage that didn't groom up well. It is completely skiable but it is wavy. The rest of the open trail is in great shape with new classic tracks set.

Afternoon

[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The man-made snow starts at the center for 100 yards, extends to the left 80 yards to turnaround and back, extends to the right up the steep hill and down 50 yards to turnaround and back to center, back to start. About .6 mile loop. Conditions were good for skating. They had groomed the prior evening. It was my first time out and it was enjoyable.
