[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The manmade snow loops are fully covered, groomed, and open for wonderful skiing. Deep base, wide coverage. Groomed for skate and stride, good snow quality with a little of the natural stuff mixed in on top. The Park staff and volunteer snowmakers deserve a big round of applause for their efforts to provide such a wonderful skiing venue for southeast Wisconsin.

Skating was good considering the very cold conditions. Hard packed with enough loose snow for good edging. Still had many skiers as the parking lot was 25% filled. The classic tracks had good depth and solid. They plan to have snow spread and groomed on the full 1.6 k manmade on Friday. About an 1/2 inch of new snow was fallen during the afternoon.

Merry Christmas! There's a decent snow cover and the trails are not icy. However, the wind is pushing 20mph. About half of the 1.2k loop is available to ski.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Enough loose snow on a 2 foot hard base for good and fast skate skiing. Classic tracks looked good as some were using them.
Skiers were doing four variations: 1.ski loop with steep climb or magic carpet, 2.ski loop to magic carpet and down steep hill, 3.ski loop to magic carpet and turn and go down magic carpet, 4.Ski loop and turn right up steep hill and down magic carpet.
Skiers had to be careful coming down the steep hill from colliding into skiers coming from the left. The parking lot was almost full. Grooming will be tonight and will not be done again until Tuesday when snow making will resume.

Very nice on the manmade snow loops this morning. A layer of loose snow on top of a firm base, generally clean with a little debris. Tracks were recently reset. Some areas are a little icy from the week's warm weather. The wider trail coverage provided this year helps a lot with handling the large number of skiers, of all abilities, that are taking advantage of this local skiing opportunity.

Nice conditions on the manmade snow loops this evening. Additional grooming has opened up a total of about 1.2 km, including all the hills. Solid base with a bit of loose snow on top. Classic track is worn. Expect continued improvement as cold weather sets in.

Ridges in the frozen hard base during the night made for ok edging and enjoyable good skate skiing. The 2 foot base of manmade snow is 1k. Very good for technique and hill training. Groomers did a great job in transforming unskiable conditions. Donations are needed to support the snowmaking.

[ B skis ]
Hard base of man made snow with a slight covering of lose snow on top. Should get better through the day as more snow is worked up. I recommend B skis as there might be stray stone.

Went at about 1pm and the smaller man-made loop still had complete snow coverage. A couple areas were starting to get a brown tint but the ground wasn't showing through anywhere. Some leaves, no sticks, no rocks. Looked like it had been groomed in the morning, and classic tracks were set.
