Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Very nice conditions this morning. The trails had just been groomed and are in very good condition. The single track trails and nicely laid out allowing for fun downhill runs. A bit of sun shining in the snow filled trees added to the lovely ski morning.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All of the trail got tracks today. After days of compacting each new 6-8" snowfall, cutting trees and branches that were downed due to high winds and snow load, cutting ice covered sapling whips that hung into the trail, tracks were finally set. There is still plenty of debris on the trail among the pines, but the rest is good. This has been a challenging beginning to a new grooming season.

Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skied Drummond ski trails this morning. Much of the system has been rolled but no tracks set yet. Spoke with the groomer and it will be a while before classic tracks are set. That said classic skiing the rolled trails was still quite enjoyable. Many thanks to the groomer for making this gem of a trail available.

Observation
[ Trails Open: Most ]
The parking lot was plowed and it appeared at least part of the trail had been rolled. We did not have time to ski it, but may try it later this week.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All of the trails have been compacted but no tracks have been set. There is debris on the trails in a number of places and bent over saplings from the ice and snow that we've had, that are hanging into the trails. They slap at you when you are not looking. Oh, and a few dead balsams that have fallen into the trail. We are working to get them clear and will set track as soon as conditions warrant. We've had at least two feet of snow, but conditions have been difficult for preparing everything.
