2022-2023 season
Reports 11 to 14 of 14    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec
Tuesday, December 27, 2022
Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails are open but have not been recently groomed/tracked, and there was significant drifting of snow across trail segments in open areas. In the wooded areas there was also debris and some more drifting. Still good to be out, of course.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Classic ski Trails are groomed and in great shape. Watch for a few branches that are still snow covered. The multi use trails are groomed for walking and can be used skate skiing.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the Yellow, Green, and Purple trails which were freshly set this weekend and conditions couldn't be much better. Just a few icy low spots in the woods on the Purple trail section and several low hanging branches laden with snow to duck under. (I helped knock some snow off them.) Kinnickinnic is a gem for classic skiing, IMO.

Firsthand: Classic

Classic track was set from the middle prairie loop all the way to the farthest parking lot. Some soft spots, but the conditions were overall good. Beware: Lots of branches and trees hanging over the trail due to heavy snow. Be prepared to duck or go around in spots.
