Observation [ Trails Open: All ]

All 12 miles of ski trails on the Navarino Wildlife Area are open and in great shape. Lots of snow for snowshoers, and a new designated trail for individuals that want to walk or bring the dog. This will hopefully help keep the ski trails in better shape. Classic and skate skiing lanes. Grooming was completed on Wednesday.

Grooming [ Trails Open: All, ]

Lots of new snow from the storm to groom with, all 12 miles of trails are packed and tracked. Worked on getting the trails as wide as possible for traditional and skate skiers. Lots of oak leaves on the trails due to the wind with the storm. Last bit of sleet on the top layer, so trails should be fast. Walking trail packed for other users, and the sledding hill is also packed.

Trails are not in good shape due to recent rains and warm weather. Trails froze hard last night, winds have knocked down lots of sticks, needles and debris. Trails are still covered, and tracks are visible. Grooming is on hold until we receive new snow.
