Notes

Well groomed trail system near Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Good mix of terrain for all levels of skiers. Grooming caters to classical skiers but skating available (roughly 60K). 1.5-2K lighted sections at two trailside lodges (Bearskin and Golden Eagle). 27 miles north of Grand Marais.

Firsthand: Freestyle

Conditions: Good early season.
Summer home and campground trails are groomed for skating. Most parts of the trail were completely covered but I still used my rock skis. Trails were fast and firm. Great first ski of the season!
