Skate skied entire trail and the skate deck was crusty and fast. Good base that is hard packed. For classical the tracks look good on the whole trail and with the dusting of snow we received it looked like they would be fast but allow some grip going up hills. Most of the branches from the ice storm have been removed, but there is still some ice on the trees in some areas which may lead to more branches falling on the trail. Do not plan on grooming at this time until we get more snow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We received about 2 inches of snow over the past two days after some sleeting rain. The ski trail was groomed and tracked and is in good to very good condition for both skate and classical skiing. The skate deck is still a little uneven on areas of the Muskellunge and Luge loops and needs more snow to even out. The woods are beautiful right now with ice/snow on the trees.

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Mark tried to groom this morning, but the snow was too hard and crusty. The parking lot is icy but the trail has a hard crust and is in good skiing condition as in spring skiing. Skate skied a short distance and some areas the skating deck is uneven but most of the trail is level and in good. Tracks are still present for classic on most of the trail and were fast. More snow is needed before grooming can be done again.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
With the warm weather yesterday and not freezing temperatures until 5 a.m. the trail is a little soft and the skate deck is uneven consistency for snowplowing down hills. With the nice temperatures today it was good skiing. For conditions the trail is very skiable but there are leaves and small branches on some areas of the trail. With cold weather predicted tonight, the plan is to groom and track the trail tomorrow morning.

The trail was groomed and tracked and is in very good condition for both skate and classical skiing. With the high winds there are some small branches and oak leaves on some areas of the trail. Merry Christmas!
