Skied the Sucker lake side. Trails are in good shape for the most part, but a few leaves, icy spots, and places with very thin coverage. For some reason Sucker Lake has only been groomed to the west -- the East side has some kind of new paved trail/road that has been plowed instead of groomed. People have made tracks to the side, but it is tough going. Bummer.

Classic only. Tracks were great along east side of Vadnais Lake. Blown out in some areas, shallow snow resulted in poling asphalt in some areas. Wooded scenery divine. Tracks observed to be set going into Sucker Lake Trail but not skied.

Skied the Sucker Lake loop just after the parking lot was cleared this morning. Trails west of the lake were groomed with 2 tracks set. The east portion over the bridge was ungroomed. Tracks were in great shape with just a couple spots of grass showing. Short segment at northwest end where pole tips hit pavement.

Just skied the trails on the Vadnais Lake side. Trail was packed and double tracked. Only a little grass poking out. The base is still soft at this point. Ramsey County widened the trail to put in a paved bike path over the summer. So they now have a skate lane rolled alongside the double tracks, starting at the bridge.

Skied the trail along the western side of Sucker Lake, and the connection to the parking area. Tracks had been set. The tracks were remarkably free of significant leaves, dirt, rocks, etc, for so early in the season. Mallards and swans are still present in the open water areas. At least one person had trailblazed the eastern side of the lake, but no tracks set. I did not check out the Vadnais portion of the trail system today. A beautiful afternoon with little wind!
