Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Skied about 6km of the trails early morning; it was fast and glorious! Green klister (covered by Start Terva) wax is working well. Tracks are solid and skate lane looks good. I skied the half-km connector to the Rib Lake Trails; it looks like the skate lane got a fresh groom but the tracks were an older groom.

Grooming
[ B skis ]
I groomed and tracked the 18km of trails this morning; most of the 12 different loops are in very good to excellent condition. Thin spots repaired with shoveling, and it is mostly just leaf debris that is poking through. Rollercoaster has very thin snow cover under the hemlocks so is only in fair condition.

Very good or better conditions. I just regroomed most of the 18km late afternoon, after much usage from junior highers here for outdoor ed. retreats. Rib lake access trail and the gaiter loop are groomed and in excellent shape.

Grooming
[ B skis ]
Trails were groomed again this morning, they were skated on quite a bit on Saturday and then turned icy. Skate and classic tracks are now in very good to excellent condition. Its safe to use the good skis except a couple of thin areas on Rollercoaster, which can be skied just fine if you take it easy in the low/ hemlock tree areas.

Grooming
[ B skis ]
I rolled the trails (to wet to pull the Ginzu early morning) for the snowshoe race, then groomed for skiing afterwards. The combination made for really nice conditions. Gaiter trail loop is still closed due to some open water and Klister trail is still closed (too bumpy, thin snow cover) but the other 10 loops are open and in very good to excellent condition, including the access trail to the Rib Lake trail system.

Grooming Scheduling
Wet snow conditions today - not good. And the Rib Lake Snowshoe Race will be held here tomorrow morning (5k or 10k, starts at 11:00). I will groom the trails after the race, so it would be best to not ski here until Saturday afternoon. Rib Lake Trail system was last groomed a week ago but is open.

Grooming
[ B skis ]
Just groomed the skate lanes since they got used quite a bit this weekend. Classic tracks still look good for the most part. I would rate conditions as "good" but it is quite variable. There are some thin spots; I recommend using "B" skis until we get at least a few more inches of snow.

I groomed the skate lanes again this morning and shoveled some snow onto the bumpy or icy or thin spots. Skied several kms this afternoon; very good or better conditions for skate and classic.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ B skis ]
I groomed the trails this morning, then (classic) skied about 5k - was pleasantly surprised at how good it turned out. Skate lanes are pretty soft but okay, classic tracks are very good, with only a handful of places where there is dirt showing up in the tracks. The Rib Lake trail system is also groomed and open.
