It was a little cold out there, but I strided 14k at Forest Springs. Excellent tracks, nice corduroy in the skate lanes; beautiful day!

Strided almost all trail loops from mid-morning to early afternoon. Trails had been groomed the day before and the tracks and pole plants were very solid. Skate lane was firm as well. Joanie and I had a great ski and loved the flow and scenery of these trails. Thanks for the great grooming!

All trails were groomed after the 6" snowfall. The snow-laden trees are beautiful and the trail surface, both skate deck and tracks, is just about perfect. My skis were quite slow; kick wax (VR40) was too sticky. It should be better tomorrow, after the snow firms up.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I strided 18km on the easier and intermediate level loops, avoiding Rollercoaster, Skidder, and Jammer because it was kinda icy. Ski control was still okay. Blue klister wax was working well for kick. Grooming plans: Adam will be grooming again when the next snowfall is over; either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.

They regroomed everything after the race on Saturday except skidder. Skidder was still in good condition. Perfect tracks and fresh corduroy. Warm temps ( 33F) made the skate deck slightly softer than the day before. The scenery was outstanding.

Outstanding! Excellent tracks. Perfect skate deck. Fast snow. 20 - 23F perfect Temps. You could not ask for better race conditions on this scenic technical course. The meal afterwards was perfect.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The Hinderbinder Race course was groomed with the PB100 this afternoon, mixing in the inch of recent snow with the hard-packed base, and it is looking fantastic. The forecast looks good for the weekend, so come to Taylor County to ski the 17km of forest Springs trails and the Rib Lake club trail system.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Adam groomed most of the loops this morning (with the Pisten Bully), turning the icy tracks and skate deck into excellent ski conditions. It is very fast yet very skiable. I'm pretty sure Adam groomed everything except Skidder and Jammer; you should probably avoid those traits. Grooming plans: We will be grooming for the Hinderbinder Race on Friday afternoon. We are expecting fast yet safe ski conditions for the race.

Wow - what a day of skiing! Perfect tracks! Level firm skate deck with perfect corduroy. The course has a good variety of hills and beautiful scenery. The race next weekend is sure to provide a good tuneup for the Birke.
