Beautiful skiing at Mount Itasca on 1.6km loop and they seem close to opening additional trails as they have a great deal of snow made, ready to push out on the trail. Awesome weekend of XC and biathlon training up there with Paralympic athletes.

Great skiing at Mt. Itasca today. 1.3 k loop with connection to "always" empty alpine hill. Only few skiers! There is more snowed trails ( approx 600 m) and should be open for the next weekend.

Fast and occasionally a bit icy but groomed and great to be on snow. Thanks to the snowmaking crew. The entire loop is about 1.25 km. No tracks.

Mt. Itasca has 1.25k their man made snow trails in very good condition and are working on more. One of the only places in MN with snow.

More than 1 km man-made snow--estimate 1.3 km--Pisten Bully groomed; very firm base, fast. Classic track present, but shallow. Actively making snow, and anticipate more trail open this coming weekend. Check reports!

Firm and fast skating on manmade, Piston Bully groomed snow. 1-1.5 k skiable with more coming soon. We used rock skis but suitable for good skis, only a couple small dirty patches that are easily avoided. No classic track yet. Very fun!

We have a nice loop groomed on machine-made snow. We continue to make snow. Nice skating. No tracks set yet as we still have yet to receive the track setters for our new Pistenbully.

While we are making snow at Mt. Itasca, the remaining trails are open and skiable ( rock skis). The man-made snow loop is approx. 1.5 k and will be pushed and groomed before this weekend.

We're more than 50% done with snowmaking -- perhaps the earliest we've gotten this far. We've even been skiing on the natural snow. We will push out our piles of machine-made snow when it looks like we're safe enough from any big warm spells -- doesn't look like there will be too much of a threat of that.

The snowmaking started last night. Besides that 5 k loop was groomed and leveled with a tidd tech. Some dirt and grass on the trail, but skiing was really nice.
