Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
JNQ races take place this weekend. Freestyle (skate) race is Saturday, so most trails except the lower Grant-In-Aid trails were groomed for skating (not tracked). Sunday is the classic race, so tracks will be everywhere. Races are morning into early afternoon, and when races are going on, all affected trails will be closed to non-racers. Otherwise, come out and ski! The trails will be impeccably groomed!

Some grooming completed after this morning's snow. Skate deck very soft and slow. Needs another groom plus some colder temps to firm things up. Grant in aid trails not groomed since new snowfall.

I skied the trails that I had groomed on Monday night for Tuesday's high school races. The trail conditions were great for classic skiing with double tracks over our 5K course! The tracks should last for a while but may get blown in with the new snow and wind. Plans are to let them be for now and to groom early in the week. Cold temperature favors classic skiing over skate skiing, so enjoy the classic skiing.

The MINSA Jr Ski Club was out mid-morning. Classic tracks were set on many trails last night with a new 1/2" of fluffy snow. We mostly skied the Up Top trails but the skiing everywhere was super fun. A magical day. Nice to be on blue hardwax for a change. An amazing amount of snow. Thanks groomers for all the hours so we can ski.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Packed and tracked most of upper Grant in Aid trails after the big storm dropped 18 inches of heavy wet snow. Bittersweet, Mag View, Black Widow, Main Street and Exit Ramp done in addition to lower biathlon trails now tracked. Overhanging small trees and branches to be removed by hand saw or nippers. Skate deck should firm up with colder temps. Grooming plans: Final sections to be packed Saturday night.
