Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After skating the trail on Tuesday, Joanie and I returned today to stride the trail. The track was still in very good condition from Tuesday's grooming and the fresh powder that had fallen since then was well compressed in the track, providing great glide. The skating lane had a couple inches of powder on a firm surface. We really enjoyed the rare sunshine today during this mostly cloudy January.

Firsthand: Freestyle

Joanie and I had biked this trail in the fall, but today was our first visit to ski here. We skated the almost 10-mile roundtrip trail on fresh cord late morning. We enjoyed the gently rolling trail and diverse scenery. We met the groomer as he was carving a very nice-looking classic track. The skate lane was just a bit soft on top from the light snow that fell yesterday, but was very firm underneath the top layer. Thanks for the mid-week grooming!

Grooming

Groomed this morning packing down 1-2 inches of fresh snow from last couple of days. Very good result! Skate track still has slight fluff but firm base. Classic track should be close to perfect! Enjoy!

Groomed this morning early. Skate track was good. A bit soft in some spots but pretty smooth. Classic track good with a slight bit of ice in some spots. Talked to several skiers that loved it.

An inch of new snow and warmer temperatures allowed us to fill in some of the ruts and voids on the trail. With colder temps the trail should firm up nicely.

Some light snow that fell after the recent refrozen wet snow mixed well to make a decent track and skate lane. However, some of the older ruts and tracks still didn't fill in completely. Enjoy the snow covered trees and firm and fast conditions.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The entire trail has been groomed for skate and classic skiing. Wet/heavy snow yielded a fair skate groom. Classic tracks are solid. Note: Our groomer lost a section of the comb, so there are some medial ripples along the skate lane. A new comb is on order and should be here soon.
