Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Well, Mother Nature has dealt us some difficult skiing and grooming conditions for the holiday season! After beating some technical issues with equipment, I pulled the Tidd Tech with full teeth with down force in an attempt to break up last night's freezing rain glaze. The skate deck was firm and I wasn't able to fill in and mix enough snow to completely fill in old tracks and winter walker tracks. I did not set a new classical track due to lack of snow, hence the B ski rating.

Skied in from the Sundstein Road entrance for about an hour late in the day on Friday. Used Red (bubble gum) wax and it worked okay. Some debris in the tracks. Think snow.

Tried to get out early this morning before the temperatures rose. Trail was as expected.: Soft skate deck, Windblown debris, and winter Walker footsteps. What was not expected was a ridge forming in the middle of the skate lane creating an uneven skate deck. Hoping with more snow and lower temps groomers can work their magic.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Went out on an early Christmas day grooming run. Encountered a few downed trees and quite a bit of debris from the recent high winds. I also noticed we lost a piece of the comb on the groomer. You may notice a skip in the corduroy but I don't think it will affect the skiing experience.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Due to the weather we are holding off grooming operations until Sunday morning. We are anticipating some deadfall on the trail so may take a while to clear. Happy Holidays!

Excellent conditions. New grooming equipment made fantastic skate deck. Classic tracks are set.

We ran the groomer over 3 inches of powder with nice results. The skate deck appeared to be firm and with the additional snow it should be safe to use good skis on the classic track.

1-2" powder from last night has been groomed into a great trail! Skate and classic skiing are available from dawn to dusk, free to the public. The full trail is open from the Sundstein Road trailhead to the newly expanded HWY 45 parking lot near Clearwater Lake. Enjoy!

Silky smooth skate lane over compacted 3 inch base. Can use good skate skis here. Maybe hold off on the good classic skis until they get a bit more snow.
