Trail Reports

2022-2023 season

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails have been groomed. A few sticks and leaves down from the wind but should set up solid. Cold dry snow did not want to form full deep tracks but better than blazing trail.

Trails were just groomed and in great shape. Pit run was not groomed but has been skied in. Deer traffic can be high in some areas but still good.

It was a gorgeous day with perfect trail conditions- suitable for myself and some speedy youngsters who are learning to ski. We enjoyed glide hill immensely between alpine and pit runs, repeating it three times for speeds over 18mph.

Best all-around condition yet this season -at least for waxable skiis. Great glide in tracks and downhill control in untracked corduroy. Pit Run tracks a bit shallow but ground and debris almost fully covered.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All tracks were broken down, boot post holes plus wild and domestic animal divots were filled and flattened. The sunshine and warmer temps helped some of the bent over trees and brush redevelop more normal vertical stature. This will hopefully lessen the need to activate as many dodging skills on Pit Run and Alpine. Finally both are shaping up towards a C grade. The track cuts looked at max depth. It looks like a green and or blue wax weekend is ahead to enjoy the fresh groom. The parking lot towards evening had approximately a dozen cars in it, good to see the trails getting used by skiers.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed today. Track cuts looked pretty solid. Pit Run and Alpine remain a little less than top condition with some overhang and trail debris remaining. Both are very skiable, but just not in full steam ahead race mode. It was great to see all of the skiers enjoying the trails today.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were tracked today, including the inside loop of Pit Run. Pit Run and Alpine are still a little adventurous, but very skiable. Enjoy the moderate temps and good ski conditions.

Snappy tracks and firm apron. Trails are about as good as they get! Thanks to all the trail fairies that have spent many hours trimming trees and grooming.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Mixed new snow with old to form some pretty nice looking tracks on every trail, except the inner loop on Pit Run. The lower section of Alpine is still in need of more trimming, as is Pit Run. Both are skiable for sure, but be aware of brush and branches grabbing at eye level. Trails within the park are getting mid-winter prime. Now if we could only keep the snowshoers and walkers off the middle of the combed only downhills.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Made a couple passes to pull side snow back onto trail and to soften surface texture. Trails were already getting icy from the high humidity and yesterday's warm temperatures. Set track on every trail except the inside loop of Pit Run. It took a couple of passes to break up granular snow while mixing in new. Track cuts looked pretty good after second or third pass, sorry I messed up the tracks for a few skiers while pulling in side snow on first two passes. Still consider Pit Run and Alpine adventure skiing, using caution in areas with obscured vision. I sent a couple of adventure type skiers from Little Falls back to Pit Run: all smiles when I caught up with them afterwards. Alpine is very skiable in the proper direction: the connection back on the bottom in the pines, just needs more trimming. Looks like a great weekend ahead to enjoy the park.
