Trail Reports

2016-2017 season
Reports 4 to 13 of 25    Month: Feb | Jan | Dec
Thursday, February 2, 2017
Night
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I did some laps in the central meadow. Skate deck has total snow coverage - it was firm in places and soft in others. Hoping the cold night helped firm it up some more. Classic tracks have some grass showing through. Fwiw, the central meadow had the least amount of snow left after the meltdown and it doesn't hold snow as well as the rest of the trail system.

Night
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Classic skied the 1 mile loop in the North Meadow Thursday night in the moonlight. Just a very few very short places where the classic tracks were down to ice...otherwise very good hardwax skiing. Secondhand reports from the household say the skating is good on the entire trail system with just a few soft places here and there.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails are packed and tracked. Looks like there is good coverage on all trails, and it should set up nicely with the cold temps tonight.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We picked up 3-4"of heavy snow yesterday. It was too warm last night and the snow was too wet to groom, so we will groom tonight. Might have enough to set tracks in a few places. Stay tuned for a grooming report tonight. Plenty of snow on the trails if you want to knock around today.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Bare ground ]
Odds are against us having any workable snow at the end of this warm weather, but as of tonight we are asking that people stay off the trails.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Awesome skiing this morning. About a half inch of fresh "snow". Excellent edging. All classic tracks had already been skied in and were in very good condition. Skied all the big hills with no problems...fast tho. Won't last long.

Night
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Had another sweet moonlight ski Thursday night, no headlamp needed. Tracks and skate deck are firm. A little drifting over the tracks in a few places. This will be a great weekend for skiing!

Groomed all trails late morning after another 3"+ snowfall. All trails in very good condition though still soft. Classic tracks set where the base was deep enough...maybe 25% of trails.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Trails were groomed this afternoon with 2"+ new snow. There was good coverage and tilled snow on 95% of trails before the new snow with just a couple very small areas where rain and sun had left bare ground. Multiple fairly small areas with glare ice under the new snow and new snow will not adhere. All trails are skiable but ski gently.
