We decided to try our luck at the WinMan trails again today as yesterday did not work out for us because of the glaze ice. Mother Nature delivered two inches of fresh snow on the trails which groomed the trails naturally. It was snowing lightly all morning and early afternoon making for a most enjoyable outing. After that fresh snow was skied into the tracks, conditions were good to very good. I classic skied about 25k, red loop, all the diversions, and then the blue loop. It was a good day of skiing. I encountered only a couple of skate skiers but many classic skiers. I did not try skating but it looked like skate conditions were marginal.

My wife and I arrived around 10:30 am with the hope of skiing the trails. I would skate while she would classic ski. Unfortunately, the trails were glazed from the warm temperatures yesterday. Icy trails were not going to be acceptable for my wife so we left for Minocqua Winter Park instead. The trails may have shaped up with other skiers and temperatures around freezing but we did not want to wait for conditions to improve.

Had a fabulous sunny afternoon on the well groomed multi-use trails. From ski, to snowshoeing, skijoring to fat biking, it was all amazing. The fat biking was super fun! All trails doable for all levels. The 0° temp was not an issue. Chalet is very welcoming.

We picked up close to 6" of snow yesterday and groomed all the ski, snowshoe and fat bike trails today. Everything should be in great shape for the weekend.

The harsh cold has been good to freeze down the existing base. With 1 inch of new snow Sunday morning I skate skied the 10k. Exceeded my expectation, keep up the good grooming techniques. WinMan, was a win-win! Classical tracks were covered with fresh snow blown into them, the should turn out great likewise.

All trails (ski, snowshoe and fat bike) were groomed on Wednesday and the skate lane was regroomed Friday night. All trails are in excellent shape.

The entire ski trail was groomed and tracks reset on New Years Eve. There's a few spots with dirty snow starting to show - mostly on the far east section of the 10K loop and easily avoidable. Right now I would say trails are still very good but would be great with another 3-6" snowfall (and 20 degrees warmer). Bike trails are groomed and in great shape. Happy New Year!

Skated the outer loop today. Trails in very good shape. Classic track looked good as well. Might stick with B skis although you could use good skis if you're careful in the few thin spots. Updated signs are great.

All ski and snowshoe trails were groomed on Thursday and are in great shape. We need more snow before we can really flatten out some of the bumps but overall it's pretty smooth and has a full depth track. All the signage on the ski trail has been updated and should be even easier to follow. We are starting to work on the bike trail - stay tuned for an update.

We were hit with 8+ inches of snow on Wednesday, reversing our snow deficit in a single storm. Today we spent the entire day packing, grooming and track setting all 20K of the ski trail. With the exception of two very small damp spots in the track, the trails look to be in excellent shape with deep, full tracks. It's snowing again tonight so pretty likely we will be touching the trails up on Friday. The ski trail signage is showing its age and will be getting replaced next week.
The snowshoe trails were rolled yesterday during the snow and are also in excellent shape. All the signage on the snowshoe trail was updated this week and the new signs should make it easier to navigate the system. Feedback is always appreciated.
The bike trail needs attention but that won't happen until next week.
Just skate skied the 10K loop plus the new 3.3K out and back and the trails are in excellent shape with a smooth, firm base (not a single pole plant punched through). Enjoy the trails!
