Great conditions for skate skiing today. Groomer caught up with the wind from yesterday and nearly every trail was packed and tracked. Would've been great for classic as well.

Skied a 15 km sampling of the snow mountain trail system-sometimes ahead of the groomer, sometimes behind. Blowing snow wiped out tracks within a half hour. Still, setting your own tracks in 2 inches of newly fallen snow with snow covered trees all around is quite the Christmas treat. Settling winds should make for near perfect ski conditions tomorrow.

[ Good skis ]
The new snow over the last few days has made for some great mid-winter conditions for both skate and classic, plenty of fresh corduroy for your A skis, just a few moose tracks. Classic tracks are a little soft in some spots but overall excellent skiing.

An additional 4" of snow fell last night. It has been snowing since Sunday and will continue for the next 7-10 days. We are getting hit hard and conditions are mid winter excellent. We are trying to groom 25-40K every day and have 60K open now. It does not get any better! Come on up and enjoy the lodging, food, and skiing!

Zone 1 and Zone 2 are completely tilled and track set. Zone 3 is also tilled and track set except for the Blue Ridge Loop and Summit spur. An additional 12" has fallen since Monday evening. It has been snowing lightly since Sunday. We are PB grooming and have hit 60K as of this morning. Tracks are set on about 90% of the system and we feel that you can now use your best skis with out fear of damage. We will continue to add K's as it snows and are expecting an additional major storm over the weekend. Conditions are Very Good to Excellent!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Conditions: We now have about 50K either packed and rolled or combed. About 20K has track set. The base is 3-6" and a little fresh has been falling every day. The conditions are considered good for early season. We are still recommending rock skis for the occasional dirt, but there is very little.
Snow is in the forecast almost every day over the next week and temps are now winter. Night time in the single digits or lower and highs in the low 20's. Winter is here and we are open!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Conditions: Good early season skiing. We have been grooming for 8 days and have about 25K in good condition. We set classic track on about 10K this morning. The base is 3"-5" and there is the occasional dirt spot.
We had an additional 2 new inches yesterday. We still recommend rock skis for the occasional dirt. The worst is the first K out of the Nordic Center and then it is awesome!
