The phone message when I called indicated that the trails would be groomed if enough snow. I came here...no grooming. Busshwacked and discovered why: trails blocked by downed trees. Snow is so deep that recreational skis and poles with big baskets are needed. The only trail that was accessible without climbing over a tree goes over the little bridge. I didn't explore it, so maybe it's blocked also. Gave it up after 20 minutes. There could be a power outage here; the office didn't pick up their phone and the hand drier in the bathroom didn't work. Oh well.

The trails are beginning to show bare spots, especially on the hill tops and more sun exposed areas. We have decided to not groom today to help preserve the base that is left. Fair to poor conditions with some of the tracks fading due to snow drift from the high winds.

Trails were in excellent condition, I assumed groomed this morning because of the amount of lightly tracked corduroy. No bare spots on the perimeter of Hills, Browns Pond, Prairie and Savanna; just a little crusty ice on the last hill before the causeway on Savanna leading back to Prairie. My car's thermometer read 34 degrees; there was a brisk south wind and it was sunny. Snow was cold and generally dry; has not corned at all. Usually I would have buffed my skis waxed with FastWax Yellow LF with fluoro paste but I forgot this time. Not sure it would have made a difference given the absence of moisture in the snow but regardless I struggled to eke out a 6.3 mph pace. Would have thought I could have managed 7 mph or better.

Once again, as it was yesterday, classic track and skate deck are in excellent condition. Some ice in the tracks and surprisingly few leaves and debris in them. The most leaves are in the home stretch from the yellow loop. And, of course, a little bare ground at the end of the yellow loop on the north side.

The ski trails are in great shape, the trails were groomed earlier today and the skiing was perfect. Bed is firm and in good shape for both skate and classical. Considering it is March 13th, it is wonderful that they are in excellent shape for this time of year.

Newly groomed and perfect! Classic tracks are excellent. A few icy moments, no leaves. Only one foot small dirt spot, on the south end of the yellow loop where it always melts most. Easily avoided. And, I would say the skate deck is also in excellent condition. Get out there quick.

Happy to report the classic tracks are back! Solid too. Skied them all I think. We don't get sun and 30 degrees on a pristine track too often. Get yours today.
