Groomed for classic and skate this morning! As it has been, just the .6k La Squadra loop is open at this time. It can be accessed from the Wirth Chalet parking lot. Planning on opening more trail early next week!

The .6k LaSquadra loop is groomed. We continue to work at making snow on the east half of Ridgeline Trail and on Trail 18. These will be the next sections to open. We have finally gotten the cold temps and the snowmaking is going great. The wind the last couple days has proven to be a worthy challenge, but we are winning! If weather cooperates, we should have more trail open within a week.

The .6k LaSquadra loop is groomed and in good shape. The new snowfall has given it the fresh layer of snow that it needed after the warm temps. However, the overnight snowfall was insufficient depth for grooming any of the natural snow trails.
The cold weather has allowed us to start back up with our snowmaking efforts. We will keep you posted on future trail openings soon.

Fresh grooming this early morning on the 0.6K man-made loop. Firm and fast conditions on the downhill - great for practicing hill descents and step turns on snow after a long summer constricted to flat pavement. The uphill was in good shape as well, but becoming a bit sugary in places. The uphill climb is great practice for alternating left and ride side V1 and of course getting the heart and lungs accustomed to the hills of Wirth. :) Thanks to the grooming crew for giving us a head start for the season!

I skied the newly opened loop this morning before sunrise and it was awesome - firm and fast! Much better than I expected. 0.6K may sound like a small loop, but it's got plenty of uphill and downhill that it keeps things interesting. An excellent way to transition from flat rollerskiing on pavement to exciting hills on snow! Thanks to the grooming crew for an opening in late November without any help from Mother Nature. Wow!
