Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good skis today, not rock ski conditions, but on my third day here the snow was going fast. Thinner and with larger bare spots and dirt patches each day starting Wednesday. Great grooming effort but the snow is just not deep enough. Did East and West. The return on the West loop is getting pretty rough and the downhills have significant deterioration. Classical tracks were softening. Get it while you can.

Firsthand: Both Lost/Found
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Enjoyed the ski mixed skating and striding to avoid bare spots or debris. Groomed sometime today. Found set of keys with a Chicago metal mug on South side uphill. Contact to find out where they were left.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The new snow has been well groomed with an excellent track and skate deck. Still on the thin side but my pole plants weren't hitting the ground today. Very small amounts of debris and dirt scattered on the West side where I stayed to avoid the wind. The cold made for a slow track and I could have taken all the hills much more aggressively. Great to get at least a few days of skiing.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Poor to fair conditions, firmly in the better than not skiing category. I only skied the West loop. Corduroy was set bringing up lots of debris, very thin and soft. I did go down the soccer field hill but the others showed way too much bare ground at the bottom for me. Skating is probably the best option but as mine were new and used only once last year I left them home.
