Ungroomed after the storm. Good coverage, appeared the skate deck was still in good shape under the fresh snow. Some branches down. Did classic around the inner loop.

Upper Nordic was fully groomed again. We have the Nordic building open every Saturday and Sunday from 10a - 4:30p for day ticket and rental needs. All Nordic trails at Spirit are open including the Nordic Connector between the lower and upper trails.

Whee! I was finally able to ski Spirit and Magney! Spirit was surprisingly good with firm corduroy and a beautiful set of tracks. The Connector was a little dicey at the bottom (water flowed over and then froze - see pic). Magney was good with fresh fluffy snow that was skied in (and snowplowed on the usual downhills). Had a smile the whole ski!

Classic skied everything at upper spirit. The classic track was a mess. It was recently groomed and full of sticks/brush/debris. I don't think I made it more than halfway through a section without being forced out by a low branch or fallen limb. I shouldn't have skied on the good skis as the bases took a fair amount of minor damage.

Started at magney where everything seemed in quite good shape. Connector to upper spirit is in great condition. Upper spirit itself could use a fresh grooming if possible. Tracks were generally firm, but lots of places where they are gone, or drifted, or wobbly, or close to the edge resulting in soft pole plants. Skate deck looked like it could use work too, with a bit of soft snow over a firm deck. Ended with moonlit trails which is always fun.

The 1.4 K loop between I and J is terrific. ( It's called The Valley of No Glide?) Some powder over the skate deck. Pretty good classic tracks. I came up via the Connector so only did that 1.4 K loop. Other trails looked good from what little I saw of them. First 2 pics are the Upper trail. Last 4 pics are the Connector trail.

Skied the outer loop of Spirit + the connector trail over to Magney and Magney's trails. Spirit had been groomed recently, but the deck was soft with all the new snow (a fantastic problem to have). Some drifting too after the strong winds. All trails overall in great shape. Thanks groomers!

Great day trip from the cities. Started at Spirit trails and went down to do a bit at Magney. Some dirt showing through but overall great conditions. Wasn't expecting good tracks so skate skied, but tracks looked really good as well. Could probably get away with good skis, if you were careful.
